The Golden Gate Bridge

Jet lagged and slightly delirious we embarked upon a trek around town that we worked out must have taken
in some 10 kilometers or so. We were pretty determined to stay up and set out at around 1pm from our Hotel
in Union Square ending up in Chrissey Fields for a brief look at the Golden Gate shrouded in S.F.'s famous sea fog.
The atmosphere is slightly humid but it is cool and not uncomfortable. This view is near the Pier at Fort Mason,
heavy rock sea walls protect the Embarcadero, Marine Boulevard and Chrissy Field area. With the misty sea fog
rolling in we could hear the forlorn sounding of fog horns, it was, inspite of the greyness a great introduction to
San Fransisco we thought.

On our return we encountered the steepest possible streets to navigate our way back to the Halcyon. Helpful
steps are cut in here and there up some of the steepest inclinations, all of the parked vehicles have their wheels
turned into the curb (you'd figure probably by law).
